Frame walls like you've done it before.
FrameFish frames walls for people who have never framed one. Draw your walls once, and it counts the studs, sizes the headers, and adds up the whole shopping list, lumber, sheathing, drywall, insulation, even the vapor barrier. Plain words, no formulas, no accounts.
Coming soon to the App Store Meet Roofish, the sibling →Enter your walls once (up to five), and every job below works from the same measurements. These are real answers from the app, at its everyday settings:
Where does every stud go? A drawing of your wall with every stud in its true place, and the tape marks under it.
What holds up the wall over a window or door? Safe sizes, kings, jacks and cripples counted. Big spans get an honest stop, not a guess.
Every wall and every opening, added into one shopping list with waste already in. Print it and hand it to the counter.
Is it square? Measure corner to corner, plus the old 3-4-5 trick with no math at all.
How many plywood or OSB sheets? Counted wall by wall, because a sheet cut for one wall does not stretch to the next.
Sheets for one side or both, plus the screws, mud and tape, estimated the way a counter clerk would.
Batt pieces counted stud bay by stud bay, in the width your spacing needs, with the R-value your stud depth fits.
Poly rolls with overlaps counted, plus acoustic sealant and seaming tape. Openings are not subtracted, the poly gets trimmed after.
Every job ends with a clean one-page list, and saved projects keep every number in place for the next trip.

FrameFish is a calculator and estimator. It is not an engineered design, a permit drawing, or professional building advice. Header sizes are rules of thumb for simple one-storey walls. Your local building code, your inspector, and a licensed engineer win every argument. Always check local code before you build, and get an engineer for anything unusual: long spans, more than one floor, or heavy loads. You are responsible for what you build. 2805869 Alberta Ltd. is not liable for damage, injury, or loss resulting from these estimates.
